New Plein Air Painting from the Dallas Arboretum by Niki Gulley

I painted this oil of the "Water Wall" at the Dallas Arboretum a couple of weeks ago as part of my demonstration during my plein-air painting workshop. I loved the golden light hitting the stucco and the interesting shadows that were created from the trellis above. Working with a combination of brush and palette knife, the final painting is full of color and texture.

I  drove by this view in Abiqui and slammed on my breaks to stop.  We set up quickly and painted the fading light. It was in the late afternoon and the color was glowing. This was one of my favorite spots while visiting the Santa Fe area. This is available for purchase. $250.00

This was painted in Santa Fe during the OPS paint out. My friend Joyce and I found this park on the first day.  We loved the view so much, we returned on the last day.  I painted with a palette knife and lots of colorful paint. This is available for purchase. $200.00
