Today's painting, entitled "ALONG THE PEDERNALES" is an 18"X14",  studio painting, oil on canvas panel, 

by Texas modern impressionist Jimmy Longacre. 

Painted from a photo taken one morning while out painting on the Pedernales River.  It was just an insignificant detail in the large reference photo, but it became a magnificent incident once I stopped to appreciate the way the light was playing on the rhythmic forms, and the way they came together.
