I created this when the sun was warm and flowers were blooming. It was painted plein air and was a joy to create.  I am looking forward getting outside  to garden and paint. 

Today I am packing up for  my next art event. 

I'm giving an art demonstration Monday night with the Weatherford Art Association.  They meet at the Barlow Hall at All Saints Anglican Church and start at 6:00 pm

I created this in the studio but was inspired from a painting trip to Marble Falls, Texas.  It was raining, but I was determined to paint on location.  I just stayed close to my CRV and painted under the hatch.  It  reminded me of what a delight morning it was, painting in the rain. I created this at one of my favorite locations in Glen Rose, Texas.  The fields are rich with blue bonnets and other native flowers. This is one of the views of  High Hope Ranch.  This gorgeous piece of property has 3 guest house to rent and 900 acres to explore.  I see new paintings in every direction when I visit here.

I had the pleasure of painting with my friend, Jill recently. We found hints of the blue blooms near Fossil Rim and quickly set up our easels.  We had a visitor that invited us to participate in an art project and fund raiser. Our new friend, Sandra invited us to explore High Hope Ranch and paint on the other side of the fence.  They have 3 beautiful houses they rent with beautiful views. Plein air painting is always an adventure.

I was inspired to paint a sunrise over this lovely field of sunflowers. I had to get up super early to meet my friends and family at the Lake in Benbrook. I have two sisters that live close by and they came to check it out. My great niece, Averi came and did her first plein air piece.  It is a joy to pass on the wonderful experience of painting outside to a loved one.
